A catch-all mailbox receives email messages sent to nonexistent addresses under the very same domain name. For example, an email message sent to the misspelled suport@domain.com will go to support@domain.com in case the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. In this way, you can receive messages from acquaintances or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a typographical error or to an outdated one, which they may still have, but you have already disabled. Just one single mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for such a mailbox. The latter is due to the fact that at a certain point you may start receiving spam email messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction means that the spam will not be sent to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting

In case you host a domain on our cloud hosting platform and you’ve got a shared hosting account, you’ll be able to enable the catch-all functionality for any email mailbox that you set up under the domain name. The Email Manager section of the Hepsia Control Panel offers quite a lot of functions, but it is really intuitive, so setting up a catch-all mailbox requires just a click of the mouse. All the email addresses that you’ve set up will be listed in this section alphabetically and you will just need to click on the "Catch-all" button pertaining to the specific address. Our system will notify you if there is already another catch-all mailbox activated for that domain name or if the one that you’d like to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding activated, so you can either disable the latter feature or pick some other mailbox. Deactivating the catch-all option is just as easy and requires yet another mouse click on the very same button.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The in-house developed Hepsia Control Panel that is included with each semi-dedicated server plan that we offer will permit you to create a catch-all mailbox without difficulty even if you don’t have much email/web hosting experience. All you have to do to accomplish that is click the catch-all icon, which will be next to each email address that you’ve set up with your domain names in the Control Panel’s Email Manager section. As you can have only one single mailbox with this feature per domain name, our system will let you know if you have already configured a different catch-all mailbox or if the one that you wish to use has email forwarding enabled. If you reach the decision that you do not want the feature any longer, you can deactivate it by clicking once again on the same icon. The Email Manager section will also permit you to view your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
